The interview process for this Quality Assurance Director role was quite professional and the teams I interacted with were polite. However, I'm uncertain if I'm still considered a candidate because the employer never followed up, which I found very unprofessional. Honestly, I probably would have declined any job offer they extended based on the interview experience.

The hiring process kicked off with a quick chat with HR in San Francisco, where we discussed my background and salary expectations. Next, I had an in-person meeting. I met individually with four people from the regulatory affairs team and also with their HR manager. Lunch was provided, which was nice. Everyone was really friendly and spoke highly of the company, mentioning how they support work-life balance. The company's unique structure handles regulatory affairs for both the clinical research phase of drug development and for when the drug is on the market. The whole experience felt pretty laid-back, mostly focused on mutual getting-to-know-you.

The interview process was lengthy and cumbersome. It was a 4-hour-long interview with 7 different interviewers. It started with a presentation given to a panel of 7 interviewers. Only two of them were managers. The rest of the interviewers were study operations associates and they seemed uninterested in the interview. Why have a peer interview if you're not interested in the interview process?

Compared to my last job in consulting, this process was really efficient and straightforward. It was mainly about checking if I'd be a good cultural fit, and they also tested some technical skills like Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, and my ability to interpret data.
