Behavioral Case

I had a 1-hour first interview with HR. It started with a screening and then some info about the company and hiring conditions. Then, the second part was a business case problem we had to solve on the call.

I applied online and heard back super fast. HR set up an initial phone chat. The next call was with the Director of Sales to talk about the sales process and how sales and delivery teams work together. Then I had a call with the Director of Delivery to go over project delivery, their methods, and the tools they use. The last interview was on webcam with the Director of Sales and Head of HR. We chatted to see if I'd be a good fit for the team and culture, and they even gave me a quick office tour and introduced me to some people, which was pretty cool. I liked how upfront they were about everything – they really wanted me to know about their mission, culture, and how things work, and they wanted to know me too. It made my choice a lot easier and I felt good about it. Everything they talked about, they've followed through on.

The interview involved a written prompt, a video interview with some brain teasers, and a case study. The case study was excessively long, about 6 pages single-spaced. They encouraged questions, but responses to mine were vague or dismissive. For example, asking for report examples led to a Google image search link, and asking development questions resulted in them acting like a client who didn't understand, despite instructions to ask such questions. I never got confirmation of receipt or feedback on the case study, which felt unprofessional given the effort required.

I had a chat with two HR leaders, they were super nice and made me feel welcome. They asked me some good questions about myself, what I'm aiming for, and what this job is all about. They also inquired about my past work and what I hope to achieve in the future. They were really professional, and I felt at ease with them from the start.
