Cloudbeds' hiring process was pretty straightforward for me, with five key stages. It kicked off with a recruiter screening call, followed by a technical interview handled by a third party called Karat. After that, I interviewed with the engineering manager, then a staff engineer, and finally the VP of Engineering. The Karat interview was split into two parts: the first half focused on React code snippets and questions, and the second half involved a data structures and algorithms problem. Even though I'm a frontend engineer, I found preparing with free mock exercises from sites like W3S really helpful for the DSA part. The remaining three interviews were more conversational, focusing on culture fit and my professional background.

The recruiter seemed a bit offended that I wasn't just going along with everything like some other candidates apparently did, and then they kind of ghosted me until the end. It was supposed to be about 4 rounds total, with 2 being technical interviews. I actually got two other job offers before the technical interview, but I figured I should at least go through with the first technical interview out of politeness, even though I had a feeling it wasn't the best idea. The technical interview itself was handled by Karat.io, which was actually a pretty good experience.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and adaptable. A recruiter from Cloudbeds contacted me to introduce the company and see if I'd be a good fit for the team, which I was open to. After that, it was easy to move through the different interview stages and conversations with the Cloudbeds team until they extended an offer.
