First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Closure Systems International.
Product Design Engineer
I had a phone interview with my manager first. Then I went to Indiana for an in-person interview in Crawfordsville. They had me prepare a presentation about a student project. I thought it was better than a regular interview because it let me show my skills directly. About 7 people were there. They asked a lot of questions, so it went way over the planned time. After that, I got asked more regular engineering and interview questions. I got a tour of the place afterward. When I got home, I had one more interview with a manager who missed the second interview. I got an offer in 1-2 days.
- What functional improvements can be made to the current design and how would you approach them?
Process Engineer
Had a phone interview with HR Manager who was sharp and did a good job with the process, before the plant visit. It was a behavioral interview. The Hiring Manager wasn't professional enough to fully understand the interview process, and questions were rather weak. Multiple questions about previous job situations were asked.
- Can you share an instance where you were responsible for coordinating multiple teams within a project?
- Describe a situation where you encountered a problem.
- What is your experience with statistics?
Sales and Marketing
Had a panel interview with 5 people, and it was kind of awkward because one of them was someone I'd work with. They made me do a bunch of projects even though I already sent in work samples. They ended up giving me an offer for a job with a lower title and grade than what they posted and what I applied for. It felt insulting when I started because they expected more than the person before me did.
- What are your thoughts on handling conflict?
Production Supervisor
Applied online and then waited about 6 months. Had a telephone interview, then an in-person meeting and a company tour. Received an offer a week later. The interview was with the production manager. I was surprised there were no difficult questions, mostly just asking why I wanted the job. I dressed a bit too formally and was told to dress casually if I got called back.
- What is your motivation for wanting this position?
