The interview process went by quickly, but it didn't feel rushed at all. Everyone was really nice and genuinely wanted to learn more about me and see if this role would be a good match for what I'm looking for.

So I had this initial phone interview and then they set up an in-person one with management. The job listing said it was local, but then the confirmation email said I'd have to drive over an hour away. When I got there, the manager I was supposed to meet was out to lunch. That immediately felt off, like you should keep your appointments. Turns out, the training week was also at that far-off place, and there was no flexibility, you just had to travel there and back daily.

The interview process started with a phone call where I left a message expressing my interest in the position. During the return call, I discussed some aspects with the interviewer and we scheduled the interview. I researched the company and noticed a high turnover, with a few exceptions making significant money. The interviewer explained that success depends on following the training and pitch. While I'm interested in helping people and creating beautiful spaces rather than just pushing product, I understand the sales aspect. Initially, it seemed like a great opportunity, and I believe in making your own success, but ultimately, this role wasn't a good fit for me.

I applied online and got a call to set up an in-person interview. When I got there, I had to fill out a long, handwritten form asking for my references and past school addresses. The person who called wasn't there, and instead, a grumpy interviewer substituted. He seemed rushed, and we stood on a stairwell while he glanced at my resume. The job said it paid 'from $19' but he only offered $15.50/hour. This interview was short but felt tough because it was hard not to get upset.
