Behavioral Other

It moved really fast. Started with a typical recruiter chat, then a panel interview, and finally another call the following week. It felt a little suspicious that they were so quick to hire, making me think there might be a lot of people leaving.

This interview experience with Closerlook started pretty well, I had a good initial contact and a phone interview. They called me back in for an in-person interview a couple days later. I interviewed with 7 people over 3.5 hours. The salary range seemed fair, and the work/life balance appeared good. The HR Director and Director of Strategy were great to talk to, and the office was nice and close to public transportation. However, some team members came across as condescending, and ironically, the higher-level people were friendlier. The main issue was that most questions felt ambiguous, maybe on purpose. For example, they asked things like "How would you convince someone you don’t know to wear something?" and the conversation got very confusing. They later told me I didn't get the job because there was nothing positive to say about me, I don't listen well, I was impolite and interrupted, and I went off on tangents because I couldn't answer their riddle-like questions. It's ironic because a recruiter who placed me before works there now and people do get hired. I wouldn't recommend this place to others due to the feedback style, which felt more mean than constructive, especially for a client-facing business hiring many people.

Behavioral Technical

Applied through LinkedIn and got an interview request really fast. The phone screen interviewer was unfriendly and clearly distracted by texting. They asked for my background, then cut me off to have me read my resume aloud. I asked about company efforts to improve employee treatment, referencing Glassdoor reviews. The interviewer denied the reviews and hung up abruptly.

It was a tedious process that took about a week, with 3 rounds of interviews (a phone interview, a 1:1 with the supervisor, and then a panel interview) plus a proofreading test to check my attention to detail.
