First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Closed Loop Recycling.
Sales Manager
I had an initial interview with CLR and then got invited for a second round, an in-person interview. Things seemed to be going well and I was excited. But on the day of the interview, I got an email saying not to come in because they chose someone else. This was unprofessional and disappointing because there were no signs of this happening before. I sent a thank you email and asked for feedback, but didn't hear back. I get that companies make decisions, but basic communication is important. I'd tell other job seekers to be careful and hope the company gets better at communication.
- Would you be willing to drive their box truck?
Receptionist
Right after applying, I got a call for a quick phone chat. Then, they sent a survey called Culture Index, which I guess was to check my personality and work ethic. The next day, another call to set up an in-person interview. I was moving and stressed about the timing, but they let me schedule my visit for within two weeks. The first in-person interview was with 6 other people and 2 interviewers, and it started with a test. It was my first time in a group interview, but the recruiters made it pretty chill. After that, I got a call to schedule a second in-person interview with the GM and CEO. I got the offer soon after. They really cared about company culture and employee skills, which was cool and showed they're focused on building a good team.
- What is your main motivation and what are your fundamental principles?
- Can you tell me about your core values and what drives you?
Intern Engineer
I interviewed for an engineering internship and asked how many of their employees were engineers, and they said zero. I didn't follow up after the interview because it seemed like they wanted a cheap way to get an "engineer" instead of paying a regular salary to get a real engineer. Without any engineers to interact with during my internship, I didn't think that it would be a good learning experience.
- What are your core values?
- Tell me about the classes you have taken.
Marketing
I applied through Indeed.com. About three weeks later, I had a casual Skype interview. They were looking for people who are self-starters, can work in teams, and have a sense of humor. This was in October. My second interview was in March after they had narrowed down the applicants. I got the offer and accepted it in early April.
- What kind of sense of humor do you have? Would you rather be given instructions or be able to find work on your own?
- Do you prefer to be told what to do or can you create work for yourself?
