Product Manager
I had to do a project and some design prep. The presentation was about launching a core feature and all the planning and process that went into it. It took me a few hours to get ready.
- Describe your collaboration process with engineering leadership.
Product Manager
Applied in March and scheduled a recruiter call that was a month out, which was strange. On the day of the recruiter interview, they said they'd guide me through the process and move me to the next round. About a week later, I met a new recruiter and had to schedule an interview with a manager. It wasn't clear what happened to the original recruiter. The hiring manager seemed checked out and uninterested during the interview, even smirking while messaging a colleague. They asked if I did an 'assessment,' which I hadn't. The interview ended with some trivial questions. The next day, I got a rejection email. I spoke to them for 30 minutes, and my 8+ years of product shipping experience seemed less important than the interaction with my distracted interviewer. It was odd to be rejected without any skill assessment. Then I saw ClickUp fired 7% of their staff, making sense of it all and feeling like I dodged a bullet.
- Can you share an instance where you faced difficulties in shipping a product?
Product Manager
The whole process took just a couple weeks and the communication was quick. It's a rigorous interview process though so come prepared! Started with an initial interview round, then a technical round, and finally a last interview.
