I was super excited to start this process, but then I saw all the bad reviews about the leadership team, how toxic it is, the lack of diversity, and the micromanagement. The immediate team seemed awesome, though. Then I met the CRO/CBO, who was mentioned as being really difficult to work with. After talking to him for 30 minutes, I totally get why. He mentioned that he and the CEO interview everyone and are very hands-on with finding candidates. With 800 employees, shouldn't they trust their leaders to hire well so they can focus on the business? It also feels like they don't value people, only how much you're willing to give to the company. He described a leader with empathy as 'too chilled out.' I disagreed, saying leaders need empathy just as much as drive. Be cautious, ask tough questions, and don't let the valuation blind you!

I tried to interview with ClickUp multiple times. I had three interviews scheduled. The first time, I logged in early, silenced notifications, and waited. At 5 minutes past the start time, I got an email asking to reschedule for two days later. I was a bit frustrated but understood and accepted the new time. Then, 15 minutes before the rescheduled interview, I received another email postponing it again, this time with no reason. I was annoyed but decided to give them another chance, thinking maybe they were overwhelmed because they're hiring for many roles. On the day of the third scheduled interview, an hour before it was set to begin, I got an email saying they had filled the position and were canceling to save my time. This excuse seemed less believable given the two previous cancellations with no notice, especially after I had cleared my schedule and prepared for the interviews. For a company that makes time management software, it seems their own managers could use some help with time management.
