First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cleveland Guardians.
Human Resources Business Partner
I had a recruiter call that went great, but then they ghosted me. They had asked me to apply and I found it weird that I never heard back after they said I would hear by the next week. Also, the salary offered was low for this kind of job.
- Where do you see your career heading in the future?
Sales Associate
I applied through my university and had an initial informational interview on campus. This was followed by a one-on-one phone interview. The next step was a group phone interview, where I met with the people I'd spoken to before, plus three new individuals. The process culminated in a full day of interviews at their office in Cleveland. The team there is really passionate about their work and about Cleveland. The questions were pretty typical, like asking about challenges and self-description, and sometimes they asked the same things again. The organization is thorough in their hiring, making sure candidates have all the info they need. They even offered opportunities to chat with current employees informally to help with decision-making. Although I declined their offer due to relocating, I have great respect for the organization and my experience.
- Can you share an instance where plans had to be changed unexpectedly at the last minute and how you adjusted?
- Describe a situation where you had to adapt your plans due to a last-minute change.
Cloud Engineer
This organization is new to the cloud and only has one Cloud Engineer. They only used 45 minutes of the 60-minute interview. I was able to answer every question they asked. The feedback I got was that I wasn't specific enough, but I don't know how to be more specific if they don't ask for it.
- Can you discuss AWS products?
- What is your understanding of Google Cloud Platform products?
- Tell me more about your experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Software Engineer
The screening interview is a 30 minute call with a current employee. Usually it is with someone pertaining to the position you are applying for. The purpose of this call is not to test on technical knowledge, but to gauge soft skills and other non-technical traits that will help determine whether you are someone that will fit into the work environment.
- How do you handle roadblocks?
