Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cleveland Clinic.
Office Coordinator
The process started with a phone call from someone at the main campus in Cleveland. If that went well, the next step was a virtual interview. After that, I was invited to tour the facility, which I thought would be a good sign. I went during my lunch break, expecting a quick meet-and-greet. However, the person was over 30 minutes late and gave me a really rushed and overwhelming tour. To top it off, she mentioned that there were other people scheduled for tours that day too. It was a really negative and awkward experience, and I decided not to pursue the job after that.
- How do you cope with high-stress situations?
Administrative Coordinator
Had a phone interview with the recruiter. They asked general questions about my ability to handle situations, my personality, and to elaborate on my skills. I was told I'd hear back in a few weeks, but it's been 21 days. All communication has been via email. It seems like CC is managing the hiring process since I only know the recruiter and not the hiring manager. The recruiter appears to be a third-party contractor. It's hard to find out what the salary codes mean because that information is kept secret.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you faced and how you dealt with it?
- What is your desired salary range?
Program Coordinator
First, I had a phone interview with the hiring company's recruiter. I answered some basic questions and mentioned that I'm only fluent in English. The following week, I had an in-person interview with an office manager. They started by asking if I spoke any other languages. When I said no, they told me that was a negative point. It felt like the recruiter didn't pass on any information to the interviewer, and the in-person interview seemed like a waste of time.
- What would your parents say about you?
- Can you speak any languages besides English?
