The interview went pretty well overall. It was on Microsoft Teams. I might have misread the interviewer, but she seemed quite uninterested from the start. I just had the interview this morning, so I haven't heard back yet because they're still interviewing other candidates. The interviewer was nice and professional.

I applied for the mascot position, but we were told we were auditioning for every position. They really emphasized the auditioning part. The interview process was unexpected as I wasn't informed about a group interview with 20 other people. We were asked to do activities that reminded me of children's theater class, like passing an imaginary ball around and pretending it was light or heavy. I didn't receive any communication about what to wear, so I chose business casual. However, I later learned that wearing heels cost me the mascot position. This experience could have been enjoyable if there was prior communication or if it felt like a camp.

I had a 20-minute phone interview. The interviewer spent the first 3 minutes checking if I met the basic requirements for the job. Then, she asked me basic interview questions for about 8 minutes, including one about animals. She let me ask questions for the last 8 minutes. It felt like she was just checking off a list rather than having a conversation.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview was done by the HR Manager and the Guest Services Manager. They seemed to have read my resume beforehand, as their questions were relevant and on point. I had to do a short (5-minute) impromptu presentation about the CMA, its goals, and tasks, so make sure to research this beforehand as they want to see passion for their mission. The in-person interview lasted about an hour, then the Guest Experience Manager gave me a tour. I got an offer, but turned it down because the pay was too low for such a demanding role, especially since I would have had to pay for my own uniform. I felt this was unethical for a non-profit.
