First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ClearVision Optical.
Sales Consultant
intense. very in depth with personality testing- they call all your references. HR department spends more time on hiring than on keeping people. The offer is presented with a very rosie picture of what you can expect and what you will earn. Make sure you negotiate.
- Are you comfortable being a road warrior?
Sales Representative
Applied online and connected with recruiters first. Then, had to complete another form with resume info and references. Next, interviewed with the regional sales manager, which seemed to go well. After that, took a personality assessment. Things went quiet after the assessment, and they ghosted me for about a month, saying they were 'building my profile', though I suspect they were interviewing others. Eventually, after following up multiple times, they emailed to say they had made their selection and I wasn't chosen. They never discussed pay, and I learned they only offer gas reimbursement for a large territory, which seems insufficient given vehicle wear and tear, despite claims that 'they really take care of their sales reps'.
- What is your understanding of what it means to be a sales representative for ClearVision?
Content Manager
The initial part of the interview process felt really fast, but then things slowed down a lot. It ended up taking a really long time because I had to talk to so many different people. One video chat went for nearly two hours, and they asked some pretty personal questions about my current job. The assessment they gave was also really weird and took up a ton of time. After all that, they just went silent. I reached out to the recruiter to say I wasn't interested anymore. I get that they might want to make sure someone is a good cultural fit by putting them through a lot, but this whole experience was just odd.
- Can you tell me about something you've attempted in your current job that didn't work out and the reasons behind it?
- What are your methods for advertising at your current company?
- How do you determine success in your role?
Sales Consultant
The hiring process involves about 4-5 interviews, some conducted via Zoom and others by phone. Additionally, there's a comprehensive 3-part assessment that's mandatory, including providing references. They're very committed to finding the right fit for the role. You'll need to proactively inquire about compensation details as they aren't readily provided.
- How would you apply your past experience to the optical industry?
