Training Generalist
Really great experience with the recruiter. They explained the culture and the position details making sure that it was the right fit for you before the interview began. Getting to hear those details helped get me excited to work for the company and to tailor my responses to the recruiter's descriptions.
- Can you describe a past training experience and how you prepared for it?
Creative Producer
I went through about 3-4 interviews, and they asked me about my background and previous jobs. The conversations were really great with everyone I talked to. First, I had an initial screening with an HR person. Then, I had at least 3 interviews over 2-3 weeks with the Sr. Producer. About two weeks after the last interview, I was informed that the role was being eliminated and might be brought back in 2021. They said they'd get in touch, but my emails to the recruiter went unanswered. While everyone was pleasant, a bit more follow-up would have been good.

QA Analyst
I applied through Craigslist and heard from the manager who wanted to chat about the role, saying it wasn't really an interview. Then I had to apply to HR. HR called me about two weeks later and said I'd get an update soon. After another week, I followed up and got the interview with the manager. A week after that, they sent me a test, which I returned the same day. Another week passed, and I had an interview with the manager, a teammate, and the VP of Ops. They said I'd hear back in a few days. Two weeks later, I followed up again and got a quick email saying the job was filled. Everyone was nice, but the communication was really bad, which is odd for a communication company. They treat you best when they want you to join, so if they disregarded my time as a candidate, I can't imagine it'd be better as an employee.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Operations Supervisor
Got a quick and nice reply from the recruiter, they talked a lot about company perks and benefits. The second interview was with my potential boss, it was supposed to be a 3-on-1 panel but only one person showed up. We talked a little about the role, but nothing about my skills or experience, mostly just chit-chat. The third interview was meant to be a 3-on-1 panel too, but only two people showed up - an HR person and another manager. They talked a lot about the company's past struggles and current situation. The questions were all about how I handled certain situations in the past, but they didn't ask about my past performance, achievements, work experience, or what I'd bring to the company. The whole vibe felt off, almost toxic. It seemed like they wanted someone to just follow orders without question. My skills didn't seem to matter at all. Also, the job was listed as Operations Manager, but it was really a Floor Manager position, and they had 4 out of 8 spots open. Nobody I spoke to had been in their role for more than 18 months.
- Imagine you had your own company, what three roles would you hire for?
