First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clean Power Research.
Sales Account Executive
The recruiting team at Clean Power Research reached out via LinkedIn, and the entire interview process was really smooth and organized. It kicked off with a recruiter screen, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Then, there were a few technical/functional rounds to dig into my sales process and style. This led into a panel interview, a presentation, and it wrapped up with a 1:1 chat with the CEO. The recruiters did an amazing job setting expectations and giving me detailed prep advice before each step. It had a few more stages than I've experienced at other tech companies (usually 4–6 total), but it was a fantastic chance to get a deeper understanding of the company’s mission, culture, and how it aligns with my own sales approach.
- Can you describe your usual methods for sourcing and qualifying sales pipelines, whether it's through inbound leads, outbound efforts, or partner referrals?
Customer Delivery Manager
So I went through 8 chats over 7 interviews, took about two months. Started with a recruiter screen, then the hiring manager. After that, there was a panel interview with two team folks, then I spoke with the VP of Product Management. Then a chat with the Director of Sales for the Western Region. The recruiter prepped me for a presentation which was 20 mins long with a 10 min Q&A. The final interview was an hour with the CEO. It took over two weeks after that last chat to hear back about a decision. The chat with the Director of Sales was cool, he's been there 10+ years and gave good context. The recruiter was also really helpful and kept me in the loop, especially before the presentation. Oh, and one weird thing, the VP of Product Management didn't have any notes and didn't know about prior talks, thought I was the first person he'd spoken to after the recruiter. There was also some overlap in questions from the hiring manager, panel, and VP chats. The CEO interview was pretty direct, asking about things like pulling data from SQL tables, which the recruiter had warned me about. Honestly, the whole thing felt too long, like they were asking similar things over and over, and it seemed like they weren't totally on top of who talked to who. Maybe that's just how they do things. Some conversations were good, but the overall vibe made me wonder how much they value candidates' time.

Technical Account Manager
This interview process felt way too long and like a drag, with six rounds for what I thought was an entry-level job. It moved really slowly, and they asked some of the same questions multiple times, which felt super repetitive. Honestly, the whole thing was a bummer and took up way too much time because it just wasn't efficient. I was expecting something quicker and simpler, especially for a junior role. The repeated questions just added stress and made it feel kinda messy.

Senior Software Engineer
I applied on their website, and then a recruiter reached out via email to set up a phone chat. After that, the recruiter emailed again to arrange an online technical interview using collabedit. This interview was with two people, 30 minutes each, done separately. The first person talked about my past projects for about 10 minutes and then asked me to code. The problem was finding the longest unique character substring. I was close but didn't finish coding in 30 mins. The second person asked me to write code to count prime numbers less than a number. I finished that on time, and they seemed impressed, saying their VP of engineering would contact me. A few days later, the recruiter let me know they don't have a spot I'm a perfect fit for.
- What's the solution for finding the longest unique character substring in a given string?
- Can you write code to determine the count of prime numbers that are less than a specified integer?
- Describe your previous projects.
