First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clayton County public Schools.
IT Support
The interview process was pretty straightforward. You need to know your stuff and get to the point. I was interviewed by the IT Lead and HR, and they were both nice.
- Describe a situation where your troubleshooting skills were critical.
Special Education Teacher
The administration seemed to really need someone, but they were serious about finding the right staff fit. It was a bummer that most of the staff, like 60%, hadn't gone through a teacher program. That was the only time I felt like they saw me as a person.
- What certifications do you hold, and can you describe your collaborative working style?
Instructional Technology Specialist
I once interviewed with Clayton County Schools with their Director of Instructional Technology who arrived at the interview almost an hour late. It was the rudest interview that I had ever had. Although, I did wait for the interview after she arrived extremely late I should have left simply out of the lack of courtesy and respect. She was even rude during the interview after finally arriving nearly an hour late. The interview was a total waste of time as I didn't even want to work with them after meeting them because of the rudeness and disrespect that I had encountered. Their total vibe that they gave off was negative and you could just sense that there were some problems within that department.
- Could you tell me what you know about the demographics of Clayton County Schools?
Teacher
You'll meet with principals and vice-principals at the school. You'll get to see classrooms in action. You'll need to answer questions about your education and background. We'll talk about your educational philosophy. You'll also review what a typical day in the classroom would be like. You'll shadow current teachers.
- Can you share your educational philosophy?
- What makes you want to teach in ClayCo?
- What community issues are you aware of?
