Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clarks.
Retail Assistant
It was a relaxed and basic interview. They asked simple questions about how I would sell and my skills. The interviewer was friendly, and I got a tour of the shop. I was also told about holiday procedures, the existing staff, and what's expected.
- Could you tell me about your skills?
- How has your previous work experience prepared you for this position?
Shop Assistant
It was a pretty laid-back interview, they just asked the usual stuff like why I was interested in working there and what made me a good fit for the position. They also asked about my schedule and how much time I could commit each week.
- What makes you want to join Clarks?
- Why are you a good fit for this role?
- Can you tell me about your availability?
Shop Assistant
I dropped off my CV at Clarks and about six months later, they rang me to come in for an interview. The manager read me the questions from the application form and wrote down my answers. After the interview, he asked if I had any questions. I asked how many people I was up against and how I'd be contacted. He offered me a tour, but I said I'd wait until I was successful and joked about preferring a call over a letter. I got the call a week later.
- What is fashionable right now?
