I was really excited to interview with this company, given the good rating they have on Glassdoor. And the interview questions for the Sales Management Trainee position were relatively straightforward and involved several people. So far, so good. At the end of my interview, I was told that the HR lady would let me know in a week or two whether I would be moving forward in the process. Two-and-a-half weeks later, after hearing nothing, I wrote and asked about the status of my application. I was told by the HR lady that they were still deciding and that they would let me know in two more weeks. Two weeks went by. Nothing. Since they had not kept their original commitment to contact me, I waited to see when they would contact me this time. Four weeks went by. Nothing. I thought perhaps it was due to the holidays. Six weeks went by. Nothing. Eight weeks went by. Nothing. Finally, after over two months of waiting, I wrote to ask what the status of the position was. A week later the HR lady wrote me back and said they wanted someone with a more technical background. Which was a total blow-off line, because I have an undergraduate engineering degree and worked as an engineer for several years. Overall, they really need to treat their prospective employees better. I can stand not being selected, but I don’t like being strung along. A disappointing experience.

As a Civil Engineering student, I reached out to ClarkDietrich about co-op opportunities. I got a quick and nice reply pointing me to the right person. To my surprise, within a few days, a manager from the McDonough, GA office called me for an interview. Turns out, they were looking to start a co-op program.
