First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clarasys.
Associate Consultant
So I really wanted to like Clarasys, and I did. There were about four rounds of interviews, including two case studies and two behavioral interviews, which went pretty well and felt more like conversations. The issue was after getting an offer. I was super excited to get an offer at what seemed like an amazing company and culture to work for. I got an informal email offer with salary ($95k) and benefits. I chatted a bit with HR about potential moving costs (I asked for $5k) or a salary increase to $100k. Both were denied, which was fine. But when I asked about a start date, they suddenly had no clue. I was hoping to start ASAP, but they kept saying they didn't know when they'd have an answer. At first it was Feb 2023. Then late Spring 2023. Then Fall 2023. This was super annoying. As a consultancy that cares about its people, Clarasys should be able to predict its staffing needs for the next year, even with changing circumstances. They told me they'd contact me when they had more info, but no one ever reached out unless I did. It's now November 2023, and I still haven't heard anything. The lack of communication is beyond frustrating and disrespectful. In the meantime, I got a new job I'm happy with, and posted about it on LinkedIn. I never told Clarasys I wasn't interested anymore, but they didn't either. I'd steer clear of this company that doesn't live up to its own values.
- Can you share an instance where you failed to meet expectations?
- Describe how you handle a scenario where you disagree with a colleague.
Management Consultant
I had an initial phone screen with the CEO and Co-Founder, where they went over my CV and asked some competency questions. Then, I had an informal chat with a consultant over drinks, which was a good opportunity to ask some off-the-record questions. After that, I went to their London Bridge office for a panel case study interview with a Principal Consultant and a Director. It was a bit like a roleplay, which was quite humorous. A few days later, I received an email from the CEO and Co-Founder stating they wouldn't be making an offer. The email was quite blunt, just thanking me for my interest and wishing me luck, which I found disappointing given I'd reached the final round.
- Can you describe what a RAID register looks like?
- Could you define business analysis?
Associate Consultant
The interview process involved 2 phone interviews and an assessment centre, spanning about 3 months. It was very well organised and I was kept informed throughout. The assessment centre was challenging but fun, offering a great opportunity to connect with everyone from associate consultants to the founding directors. It included a numeracy test, a non-verbal reasoning test, a case study, a competency-based interview, and a couple of group exercises. The small group size was beneficial, allowing ample interaction time. The assessment focused heavily on core consulting skills like communication and presentation.
- What is your typical role within a team?
