Intern
So, first you fill out an application form, which you really need to tailor to what they want, it felt a bit forced sometimes. Then there was a technical interview that covered both math/stats stuff and some behavioral questions. They gave you a presentation topic 30 minutes before the interview, and the technical questions were all based on that. The behavioral questions were the same as what you put in the application.
- Can you give instances where you've used math, stats, or OR techniques (like programming, spreadsheets, databases, or special software) to fix a complicated problem?
- Tell me about a time you successfully drew conclusions or advised people based on your analysis, and how you shared your findings.
Intern
The interview process was online, starting with situational judgement tests (both written and data-based). This was followed by a phone call where they asked average interview questions. You needed to give examples mainly, covering things like working in a team, handling tough situations, and time management. The organization for the interviews was a bit slow.
- Could you share an instance where you collaborated within a team?
Intern
It was a pretty relaxed telephone interview. My interviewer was lovely, and she asked me a couple of non-assessed questions before the actual interview started to ease my nerves (e.g. what I am studying etc. ) The interview was based quite heavily around the Civil Service competencies, so it might be a good idea to brush up on those before the interview.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
- Describe a time when you successfully delivered a project despite facing challenges.
