First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Civil Service Employees Insurance.
Actuarial Analyst
Had an HR interview that was about 30 mins, it was pretty chill. They asked me about my previous jobs and why I decided to go into actuarial science. A few behavioral questions were thrown in there too. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Could you provide an overview of your resume?
- Walk me through your resume.
- Tell me about your work history.
Information Technology
It was a short but tough interview. They asked a lot of technical questions. The first part was behavioral and easy. I guess that's why the I.T. team is so good. We had two phone interviews, two in-person interviews, and then a panel interview. The whole thing might seem scary, but it's needed to ensure we get top performers in a small team.
- Can you write SQL queries?
- What are the fundamentals of Java?
- Describe XML structure.
Software Engineer
I had a recruiter screening call first. Then, the hiring manager talked to me about my resume and experience. After that, there was a technical phone interview with the Hiring Manager. Finally, I had a Skype interview with a Panel where we talked more about technical aspects.
- Can you elaborate on your technical background and provide specific examples?
- Tell me more about your past technical work and give me some concrete instances.
Property Examiner
I spoke with two male managers in the property department. They had a printed copy of my resume. They asked me specific questions about my job experience. The interview was about 45 minutes long and felt a bit casual.
- Can you tell me about the largest estimate you've ever created using Xactimate?
