I had a virtual interview with HR. The recruiter didn't know my name initially and had to ask who I was. She seemed uninterested and annoyed, asking some basic questions twice with slight rephrasing. She also looked away from the camera, which felt unprofessional on Zoom. The whole experience gave me a bad vibe, which was disappointing given my initial impression of the company. After the interview, I checked reviews and am now glad I didn't get the job.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process started with a very brief 5-minute phone call, after which I was invited for a 3-hour in-person and practical interview. Upon arrival, I was led to a small, dimly lit room for a 15-minute verbal interview with the lead therapist and spa manager. They seemed a bit off-putting with their insincere smiles and became evasive when I asked about pay and benefits. They presented a pre-set shift schedule, and reacted strangely when I mentioned a scheduling limitation. Following this, I toured the facility, noting a strong chlorine smell from the indoor water feature, which even permeated the treatment rooms. I then performed the first practical session on the lead therapist, who attempted to engage me in distracting, unrelated conversation. After this, I met a second lead therapist who was present on her day off for the second practical. The first lead therapist left, and I proceeded with the second practical, though I already suspected I wouldn't receive an offer due to the lack of engagement and information from her. I admit my performance during the second practical may not have been my best, given the increasingly bizarre and unsettling nature of the experience. Having prior experience as a massage therapist, lead, spa manager, and instructor, I found this to be an exceptionally strange and unsavory interview. Upon completion, the second lead therapist escorted me to the exit without any verbal communication, leaving me to believe they received several hours of free service.

There were 2 interviews the same day, each about 25 minutes long. The first was with the GM and then the Spa Manager. It was pretty straightforward. They want to see if you can handle customer service and difficult situations, so just be outgoing and be yourself.
