Manager
This was a 2 round interview, pretty straightforward and standard interview questions. Most questions were formatted in the "What experience do you have in ____", going through the various responsibilities of the role. Interviewers were a little bit disorganized; timeline was slower than anticipated.
- What experience do you have working with outdoor education?
Intern
I had an in-person interview with two people from the company, one was the director of the department and the other was a manager or director. We talked about my experience and if I was interested in the role, and they looked over my resume.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join this organization?
- Can you share some of your experiences that are relevant to this position?
- On a scale of one to ten, how would you assess your proficiency with Microsoft Excel?
Director of Marketing
I had an initial hour-long meeting with the Executive Director where we talked about my background. We went into detail about my previous jobs, which organizations I've worked with that have similar programs, and where their organization aims to be in 2017. About a week later, I met with the rest of the senior team. This time, we discussed my experience less deeply. They asked me questions about my experience with a development team and fundraising. We also went over my thoughts on a marketing wrap-up document they sent me a few days before. I pointed out issues, asked some questions, and then shared my recommendations for 2017.
- What are your motivations for seeking employment with this organization?
- What experience do you possess that is relevant to this position?
- Based on your review of recent performance data, what marketing suggestions would you propose?
Events Staff
I submitted my resume and cover letter. About two weeks later, the person who would interview me emailed me to schedule a time. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal panel. It happened in the actual office space where I might work, and I met with my potential direct boss.
- How can you contribute to City Parks?
