First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Virginia Beach.
Paralegal
I had an initial phone screen first, then an in-office panel interview. After that, there was a writing assignment that lasted about 30 minutes. Some questions felt pretty repetitive. It became clear afterwards that it wouldn't be a good personal fit for me.
- Can you tell me about your experience with the criminal justice system?
HR Business Partner
It started with a phone screen, then there was a panel interview, and finally a project interview where I was given an assignment and had 24 hours to finish it and prepare a 5-minute presentation.
- Can you share an instance where you made a mistake?
Clinician
The whole process takes a while, a few months in the worst case. Sometimes you have to reapply and go through the interviews again. The department interviews are usually pretty straightforward if you're familiar with how case management works.
- Can you tell me about your understanding of this position?
- Do you have any general counseling experience?
- How would you approach case management?
