Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Crime and Intelligence Analyst
I had a zoom interview with the head of HR and three team members. They asked me hypothetical and technical questions.
- Can you describe your experience with Operating Systems?
Safety Director
The interview process was really good and not too long. I felt like I got a lot of information about the job duties on the first day. My potential supervisor was friendly, spoke well, and was happy to answer all my questions.
- Have you managed Workers' Comp programs before?
Heavy Equipment Operator
I sat with a group of 4 people. The questions were really simple and not patronizing. They gave me a basic understanding of the job. At the end, we did a field test to check if I could operate the equipment I said I could, which was unexpected since I was in a suit. Overall, I enjoyed operating the machinery and had a great time after being away from heavy equipment for 4 years.
