I had an interview at the community centre with the coordinators for that specific centre, though they are hiring for all city-run centres. It involved basic behavioral questions, skill-based questions, and then a demonstration of my skills. Since it was for an art instructor role, they asked for a physical portfolio, which was unexpected! I also had to teach an art class using supplies they provided and do a portfolio walkthrough.

To be a skate instructor you have to pass an on ice assessment testing your skating skills and your teaching skills, then also do a short interview. Both are pretty straightforward and if you show you want to learn and will work hard they'll hire you

The interview process was easy and straightforward. I was asked relevant questions, and the process moved quickly. It didn't take too long, and there was only one interview with two interviewers. I received a quick response both before and after the interview. Usually, the city government moves slowly, but I didn't have that experience. Overall, it was a smooth process and interview.
