& Process

I had to go to Seattle.gov and look up job postings, keeping in mind there's a separate tab for student roles. After finding a job I liked, I clicked 'Apply' and then had to create a profile. Basically, I uploaded my whole resume section by section, though I think there was an option to auto-fill from LinkedIn. Since I applied as an Intern, I had to upload my Resume, Cover Letter, and an unofficial Transcript PDF. After submitting, I was contacted within a month about an interview. The interview itself was a bit nerve-wracking but pretty straightforward. I was on one side of a table with five engineers across from me. I think I did okay, and they offered me the position less than a week later.

I found the job posting online and applied. Then I had to fill out a really long form that asked for the same info as my resume, which was annoying. After that, I got a call for an interview that lasted about 4 hours total. The interview had two parts: first, an engineering test, and then a 1-hour oral interview. The engineering test was 2 hours long and seemed weird because I already have my PE license, so I thought it was a waste of time. The reference sheet they gave was bad, with unclear formulas. They also gave me the questions for the interview beforehand, which was helpful for preparing. I only got about a 10-minute break between the test and the interview, barely enough time to use the restroom and eat a snack bar. After the 1-hour interview, I was done. They didn't cover parking, which cost over $15 in the city. While I'm not upset about the money, it's different from other companies that always cover parking.

Got an email asking about my availability. Responded and then had a 3-person panel interview. They gave me the questions beforehand and 5 minutes to review them.
