Behavioral Technical Presentation

Started with a recruiter screen, then a first and second panel interview which were smooth and comfortable with lively conversations around the provided questions. This was followed by an onsite meet and greet with the potential manager and Division Director. The recruiter framed this as an informal 'get to know you' meeting. The interactions remained positive until the Division Director made comments about my race, temper, and note-taking habits. He also mentioned firing someone for talking too much. This was disappointing given the company's stated positive work culture. He also explained the role is 'on call' and the expectation is to be available. It seemed they were looking for someone for presentations and administrative tasks rather than leveraging my 20 years of experience. The potential manager was great, but also seemed to want someone for presentation construction and basic admin work.

It was a panel interview with about 4 to 6 people, depends on the team. They give you the questions 20 mins before the interview, and the process is super rigid. They ask the questions exactly as written, you answer, and then they move to the next one.

The initial screening interview had about 5 standard questions, one of which was about DEI and another about dealing with difficult people. I was happy to hear the second interview would be in-person, which is great for me.
