I applied online and soon after, they e-mailed me to come in to City Hall for an interview. They asked about my experience working with kids and what I would do in various situations, like if a fight breaks out between two campers. I had a good amount of experience, but they're also willing to hire those who don't yet have a lot of experience, so if you don't, you should still apply.

The interview process included panel interviews, with some panelists joining remotely via TV screens. After the interview, I was left waiting for either a rejection or an acceptance. I waited for a long time, and it turns out that if the City doesn't want to hire you, they won't even inform you. They ghost you like a dating app. I can handle rejection, but what I really dislike is not hearing back at all. It's extremely unprofessional and probably reflects the overall work culture, which seems unprofessional.
