The interview was with a panel of 3. The interviewers expressed that the interview was mainly to gauge my personality (and ability to work with the team). Since the application process included a questionnaire about why I wanted to work at the Stormwater division, we didn't really discuss those topics. Be honest about your passion for stormwater. They were all super nice, too! Overall, the interview took about 1 hour. Good luck, and be yourself!!

The interview questions didn't really match the job. I was ready for finance and accounting questions, but instead I got asked about diversity, city values, and current city challenges. It felt like a waste of time because those questions don't seem relevant to hiring for this specific role.

I had an initial interview for a job at one of their performing centers. The interviewer was late, in a hurry, and seemed uninterested. From the beginning, I got the impression the interviewer didn't care. They went through the tasks really quickly (which felt like a red flag), making me feel like I was intruding on their valuable time. When I had questions at the end, the interviewer seemed increasingly annoyed. They even said something like, 'Well, that's not our department!' I mean, how was I supposed to know that? That's why I was asking. Their colleague, however, seemed much nicer, and I enjoyed speaking with them. I've interviewed with various government agencies before (like the city of Raleigh), and people were usually quite friendly and approachable. This was the first time I encountered someone so arrogant. Halfway through the process, I decided this wasn't the right fit for me and I wouldn't want to work under that kind of manager. In the end, I wished them a good day, which seemed to catch the interviewer off guard; they were clearly ready to end the call! This whole experience left me with a negative impression.
