First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Memphis Government.
Engineering Technician
The process was pretty simple. You go into a room with about three to five people, and they all hit you with a bunch of questions. They mostly asked stuff about behavior and teamwork, plus a few things directly from the job description.
- When it comes to projects, do you find you perform better working alone or as part of a group?
Customer Service Assistant
I had an in-person panel interview at the office and then a follow-up phone interview a few days later. During both interviews, I spoke with managers who all managed different branches/locations within the same department.
- Tell me about a time a customer had a bad experience and how you fixed it.
Planner
The interview process was straightforward. I was asked questions about my past experiences that are relevant to the position I'm applying for. Overall, my interview experience was positive and I had no complaints. It seems like a decent process.
- Can you tell me about past projects you've worked on that are related to this position?
Application Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward, mostly basic HR-type questions with just a couple of technical ones. Unfortunately, I didn't end up getting an offer, and I haven't heard back at all, even after two months. They're not really great about giving interview responses.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
