First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Hope.
Administrative
I went through a series of phone screens and then a final in-person round (before covid) with the matrix team, which included a campus tour. The offer process was really unprofessional and didn't match the culture they talk about, where they say they prioritize people over profits. It's good they took that out of their marketing. I got a verbal offer and then they just ghosted me. It's not that hard to be professional and respectful. My impression is their culture isn't what they claim it to be.
- Can you give me some examples of projects you've worked on that are relevant to this role?
Administrative Assistant
First, I looked online to find job opportunities. Then, HR called me, which was the next step before coming in for a 1:1 interview and a test. If that all went well, another interview was scheduled with people I might be reporting to. It was pretty confusing for me as a potential employee.
- Can you tell me about a job you disliked and explain your reasons?
Administrative Assistant
The Associate VP wanted me to be interviewed, vetted and hired before the end of the year, so once I was introduced, interviewed and background was checked the entire process length was 2-1/2 weeks.
- What makes you want this job?
- What are your 5-year career goals?
- Is your requested salary negotiable?
