First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Goodyear.
Infrastructure Engineer
The interview process was pretty good and easy to follow. It started with a phone screening, then a zoom interview with 5 people, and after that, another phone interview with the manager. They told me they were choosing between me and someone else. After that, I never heard from them again. I reached out to HR two weeks later to ask about the status but got no reply. I also asked the manager for feedback on the interview, but again, no response.
- Can you describe your experience with the logical network design for both wired and wireless networks?
Manager
The interview process I went through matched what was described, pretty much in the same sequence: first, there was an initial email and screening, then a phone call screen, followed by two video interviews, and finally, the decision came via email, not a call from a senior manager as I expected, which is usually how it's done, but this was a short, impersonal email that seemed like it was written by HR and checked by legal.
- Tell me about your leadership style.
Business Intelligence Analyst
I applied on governmentjobs.com, and the recruiting analyst reached out saying I met the minimum requirements and might be contacted for an interview. Then, a panel interview was set up with people I'd likely work with if I got the job. After that, there was a 1:1 interview. The whole process was really organized and transparent, which I appreciated. It felt like they respected my time, which is great.
- What's your motivation to get up and go to work each day?
- Could you describe your process for gathering requirements from stakeholders?
- What are your reasons for wanting to join this organization?
IT Technician
They did a quick technical interview asking about my experiences and how they would be a good fit for the city. Then, they asked some behavioral questions like why I want to work there and my career goals for the next few years. The interview process overall was pretty easy and direct.
- Can you identify these ports and explain what they do?
