The hiring process was pretty straightforward and simple. It involved several steps: a physical fitness test, a panel interview, a polygraph examination, and a background check. The whole thing took a couple of days, and you had to be there in person for it. You'll also need to pass medical and mental evaluations.

It was pretty straightforward but a bit more comprehensive than I expected, overall a positive experience. They took a very thorough look into my resume and if I was the right fit at the city. They put lots of weight on past experience and how to relate it to my future employment. Definitely not the hardest interview I've ever done, but still comprehensive.

The whole process was really fast and simple. The city officials were professional but understood that this job isn't super high-stakes, being a part-time, temporary gig. They were really good about communicating before the interview and kept me updated on where things were at the whole time.
