Recreation Specialist
You gotta apply online first. If they like your application, they'll call you for an in-person interview. After that, they'll check with your previous employer and your references. You gotta give them 3 references.
- What makes you a great fit for the Recreation Specialist role?
Marketing Coordinator
The first phone interview was pretty laid-back and friendly. Since I'm just starting out with interviews, the job hasn't been offered to anyone yet. I was told the next step is a panel interview with four people. If selected, candidates will likely get an assignment to present to the panel, and they might have 3-4 days to get their project ready for the presentation.
- Can you share a positive and negative customer service experience, either as a customer or as someone providing service?
- What's your level of familiarity with the services offered by the City of Allen Parks & Rec?
Human Resources Analyst
The interview process moved pretty quickly. The longest part was waiting for the initial call after applying in November/early December. I got a call for a phone screen around January 15th and was ultimately offered the role by Feb. 17th. The panel consisted of an Assistant Director, the Fire Chief, a Director, and the HR Director. The questions were pretty standard, nothing too difficult for someone experienced in employee relations. At the time, the HR Director had limited experience in employee relations as she was previously in compensation.
- Regarding employee relations, how would you handle situations where employees are under 18 and their parents call with an issue?
Assistant
Had two interviews, and they both went well.
- What was the hardest question you were asked?
