First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City of Albuquerque.
Environmental Scientist
It was a tough process. They took a really long time to get back to me, and then they wanted to interview me the very next day. After the interview, they completely ghosted me and never even let me know if I got the job or not. When I actually checked my application status, it still says the position is open, even after three years.
- Tell me about your biggest weakness.
Firefighter
I was called in for a panel interview with 5 chiefs, and then accepted as a candidate, pending a physical assessment. This physical assessment consisted of pushups, pullups, and a timed mile run. The last stage was a full FBI background check and psychological assessment. The process was very difficult, but I persevered and became a firefighter.
- What motivates your desire to become a firefighter?
Administrative Assistant
So I had two in-person interviews for this job with the City of Albuquerque. Afterwards, I got this email from a third party, like an automated one, saying my application was withdrawn. They didn't pick me. Kind of rude and unprofessional, honestly. But hey, maybe it's for the best they didn't choose me! I'm gonna see it as a good thing :)
- Would you be willing to give up your current remote work if you were offered this role?
Cultural Services
After applying, there was a really long wait to get an interview, and then another really long wait after the interview to find out if I got the job. The interviews were conducted by a panel, and I had to submit my transcript, references, and all the usual stuff.
