First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at City National Bank of Florida.
Assistant Controller
I applied through LinkedIn and had a first round Zoom interview that lasted an hour and went well. Then, I was invited to the office for a second round to meet the team in person. That interview also went well, and it seemed like we were both interested. After the in-person interview, I never heard back from HR, not even a rejection, even though I tried following up multiple times. It was pretty unprofessional to ghost a candidate after they took time off work to come in for an interview.
- Could you discuss accounting standards pertinent to the banking industry?
Personal and Small Business Banker
First, I had a phone chat with the Branch Manager. After he felt I was a good fit, he set up another interview for me with him and the Regional Sales Manager. If that interview goes well and they decide to make an offer, then they'll set up a final interview with the VP of Sales.
- Can you share your past experience and your strategies for acquiring new clients for the bank?
- Could you recount a situation where you dealt with a challenging customer and explain your approach to handling it?
Project Manager
I had an interview in January with City National Bank for an IT role. The interviewers included HR and two C-level senior members. It was a very unprofessional experience. The HR person was constantly interrupting, on her phone, and laughing. One of the IT members was looking around and using his cell phone throughout the interview. I was relieved when it ended and hoped not to hear from them again.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Business Transaction
It was a great interview experience. I spoke with the district manager and the Branch Manager. They made me feel comfortable. We had a good conversation and built a strong rapport.
- Can you describe a typical day in this role?
