The interview process had 3 stages, starting with a phone screening. After that, I had 3 interview rounds. Round 2 was with HR and the Hiring Manager. The last stage was a Behavioral Interview with the team leader, focusing on culture fit and my past experiences.

Behavioral Presentation

I had a 20-minute online video interview with 4 people, including the hiring manager. The other three employees seemed unhappy. The manager seemed to decide he wasn't interested very early on, possibly because he doubted the accomplishments on my resume given my appearance. He interrupted me to talk about his leadership style and then quickly cut off my questions. I felt sorry for his team and wasn't interested in the role or company. Interestingly, I was quickly hired by a competitor afterward.

I was contacted by a Citi recruiter on another role and they suggested this one. There were 3 rounds, all scheduled by an HR coordinator in India. The first was with the hiring manager, the second with a team-mate, and the final one with the head of the department. The whole process took about 4-6 weeks and I got a verbal offer 1-2 weeks after the final interview, followed by a written offer.

The interviewer skipped over my resume and acted very haughty. When I asked why, he stated there's no such thing as 'real' finance experience, despite me being ready to connect my background to finance. He even mocked my lack of finance experience, which was contradictory because he also said they don't expect applicants to have it. Overall, it was a terrible interviewer and a terrible process. It felt like he had already decided not to hire me and was biased from the start. A truly awful experience; with a different interviewer, I probably could have at least gotten a second interview.
