I had my first interview round on the Karat platform, and I'd say it was medium difficulty. You should get ready with Karat tagged questions on LeetCode. The round had 2 LeetCode questions for 30 minutes, 6 questions on object-oriented design for 10 minutes, and 3 system design scenarios for 10 minutes. The whole thing was 60 mins.

The interview started off well, with friendly interviewers. The interview itself wasn't too hard. But then things got weird. Recruiters went silent for weeks, not answering emails or follow-ups. Then they kept passing me around, with each person saying someone else had the feedback. After another few weeks of silence, I got an email saying the job I applied for was gone. For a company like Citi, this kind of process and disrespect after multiple rounds and hours spent is just not acceptable.

The interview was done online over MS Teams or Zoom. They really drilled down on core data structures and algorithms like arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, and dynamic programming. Also, they asked about OOP concepts like inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, and encapsulation. Some database questions came up too, covering SQL queries, indexing, and normalization. Basics of Operating Systems and Computer Networking were also tested, including topics like deadlocks, paging, TCP/IP, and the difference between HTTP and HTTPS. For the coding part, you either had to solve a small problem live or explain your thought process for a given problem. They might also inquire about your past projects and any internship experience you have.
