First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Citi Bike.
Communications Specialist
I spoke with the earned media director for about 30 minutes. We talked about my previous experience in earned media and how I find new story ideas. They really seemed to care about creativity and being self-motivated.
- Could you tell me about your background in media relations and how you'd handle difficult situations?
- Can you describe how you approach generating story ideas and your experience in media relations, especially when facing challenging circumstances?
Product Manager
I talked to the hiring manager over the phone and then I was invited for a half-day onsite interview. The onsite part was really nice and everyone was friendly. The downside is that I never got any follow-up. I reached out to HR twice after the interview but didn't hear back.

Valet
First there was a group assessment test and then they did individual interviews based on how I did on the test. It was 1 on 1 even though other interviews were happening in the same room, which was nice. They asked normal interview questions and typed my answers into a laptop. After that, I went into a hiring room where I handed in my documents for hiring and they said they'd email me about the orientation date.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
- Are you comfortable working outdoors in any type of weather?
- Is it feasible for you to be on your feet for an entire day?
Analyst
started with a phone interview, then there was a writing portion and a comprehensive mechanics test for bicycles. when I went in, they gave me water and tea and took me to a well-lit closet. the interviewer paid close attention and took notes. they didn't make much eye contact, but sometimes that's helpful.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- Which mathematical equation do you like the most?
