My interview with Cineplex was pretty cool and interesting. First, there was a screening, then I had a long talk with the hiring team. They were really nice and professional. They asked me stuff that made me think about my past experiences, my skills, and if I'd be a good fit for the company. It really showed me how they care about teamwork, taking action, and always getting better.

It was pretty easy and straightforward, I got hired on the spot. Entry level interview skills are mostly needed for customer service and situational questions. The interviewer was friendly and focused on my availability, teamwork, and communication skills. The whole process was quick.

Behavioral Presentation Case

I had an initial interview with HR, then a 45-60 minute video interview with the Cineplex Department Director. After that, I was asked to prepare a business case presentation, which took me about 5-6 days to work on. Then I had an hour-long session where I presented the business case to the director and the SVP of product and engineering. After the presentation on Friday, HR and the director both reached out and verbally offered me the role, saying a written offer would come the next week. However, on Tuesday morning, HR contacted me to say the position had been eliminated due to confusion about the role among the hiring manager and higher-ups. It felt like a complete waste of my time.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty straightforward interview process, though a bit unprofessional. Like, one interviewer was super noisy, clattering dishes in their cupboards while I was answering questions, and they didn't seem very into it. For the first step, they actually emailed a bunch of candidates with our emails visible (BCC'd) and only interviewed the ones who replied fastest. So it wasn't really about who was best, just who was fastest. I replied within 20 minutes but didn't get picked initially. Then, a week later, Cineplex called me a lot, like 5 times in a row, probably because their first choices didn't work out. They went back to the BCC'd list. And again, I spoke to people who seemed half-listening and still clattering dishes. They even blamed me for being hard to reach even though they didn't respond to my email! And honestly, 5 calls in a row? Just leave an email after the first few. It was super unprofessional, but hey, it's a job.
