The interview was a 30min zoom call with members of the academic advising team. It was a pretty straightforward interview with no difficult questions. HR contacted me pretty quickly with an offer after the interview.

So first, a staff member escorted me to the back office where I met with the hiring manager. After that, we moved into the regular interview, where they asked about my character and availability. It wasn't anything too complex.

Behavioral Presentation

I applied for an adjunct clinical nurse faculty position and quickly interviewed with the Health and Safety department. Since I was new to teaching clinical at the time, my interview probably wasn't the best. The turnaround was fast, and I got an offer about a week after the interview. Things got a bit tricky after that. I needed to clarify the hourly pay for teaching clinical, which took about a week to get sorted out with the dean. I had made it clear multiple times that accepting this role meant I'd have to go on standby at my current hospital job. Once the pay was clear, I accepted the offer and went on standby at my part-time hospital job. After that, I heard nothing. As the semester start approached, other schools had me going through their training and faculty orientation. I didn't even have a clinical day or class assigned. I finally emailed the dean directly, assuming I wouldn't be teaching that semester, and asked for an update, mentioning I'd gone on standby at my job and was facing financial difficulties. I got a call back right away (which was strange given my previous emails). I was told I'd be assisting another faculty member that semester, with the possibility of teaching a lab next semester. I was okay with that and waited for more info, but it never came. I haven't heard from Cincinnati State since. It was incredibly unprofessional and financially stressful at the time. I know adjunct roles are contractual, but I've never been told I'd teach a clinical course and then hear nothing further from the college.

The hiring process was quite long because the HR office was inefficient. I was hired, then told I needed to go through HR, which added 4-5 months to my onboarding and left me unemployed. But, once the interview was set up, the actual interview was typical for an academic/administrative job. I talked with the hiring manager, and they asked me about my education, skills, and background. I also got to ask them my questions.
