Multiline Adjuster
The Area Supervisor contacted me, and we chatted about the role and scheduled a meeting at Starbucks. There, I met the hiring manager. We talked about the initial screening and what the day-to-day would look like. I didn't like the sound of it for Texas because it felt below my skill level and I didn't see a fast track to management. The interviewer mentioned that moving up from Field Adjuster meant relocating to Ohio. The company felt rigid and not a good fit for someone with my leadership experience. The pay seemed low, but the benefits were good: a company car with personal use for my spouse, a computer, and home office furniture.
- Which area of insurance do you feel is your weakest?
Claims Adjuster
The interview process was pretty chill. It actually took place at the hiring manager's house. He seemed like a really good person and I think it would have been nice to work for him. He was very honest and open about everything. The salary they offered was pretty low considering the experience level they're looking for.
- What are your reasons for wanting to work in Cincinnatti?
Software Developer
I got a technical phone screen to check my knowledge, then a bunch of one-on-one interviews with the lead architect, service manager, and the managers I'd be working with. The recruiter hit me up on a Friday, I did the tech screen Monday, had the one-on-ones Wednesday, and got an offer by Friday. It's all a bit of a blur of interviews, could have been two weeks, but definitely not longer.
- Can you tell me about a complicated application where you contributed code?
Attorney
I met with the general counsel for the initial interview which lasted 30-45 minutes, and then had a second interview with the manager who would be my immediate boss. The second interview was more of just a "rubber stamping" approval. This then was followed by a formal application submitted, background and credit check.
- Tell me about your work at your current employment.
