First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Church Pension Group.
Software QA Engineer
The interview process was great. I felt really good about it and think I did well. There was a good vibe and connection, and it seemed like we liked each other. Some questions were tough because they weren't directly related to my specific role. It's been a few months, and I know they're still interviewing. I haven't gotten any word back yet.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Do you have experience with SQL?
- Are you familiar with API concepts?
Marketing
So I interviewed with CPG and it was kinda a mixed bag, felt more negative in the end. First, I had a Zoom interview with the recruiter and the hiring manager, they were cool and we had a good chat. Then, about two weeks later, I had another Zoom interview with four other team members. It felt like a lot of people for a panel, but it went well and I felt pretty good about it. After like a month of not hearing anything, I followed up. Then I got invited to a final in-person interview in their Manhattan office with two executives. It was professional but friendly and I thought it went great. But then a week later, I got an automated rejection email. After all those interviews and talking to HR, getting an automated email felt really impersonal and kinda sucked. A personal email or a call would've been more respectful for the time I put in. It showed me more about their culture than the interviews did and made me feel undervalued, which was a bummer since I was hoping they'd be more personal.
- What unique value can you bring to our company?
Intern
I submitted an online application and was then nominated for a phone interview. The phone interview was quite general, focusing on my knowledge and past experiences. After that, I was invited for a round robin interview where I met with three managing directors. The people there were really nice and asked me general questions about my experiences and resume.
- Can you elaborate on your resume and experiences?
- What general knowledge and experiences do you possess?
Software Development Group Leader
The strangest company I have ever interviewed with in my 20 years. First - a four hour interview with the HR manager, then the hiring manager (VP - Dev). Second - a hr long phone interview after 2 weeks with a peer Group Lead and a UI dev. Third - a hr long phone interview after a week with a VP - Enterprise. Fourth - a final interview with the CIO . Between the first and second, a hour long test on general skills. 2 weeks after that - called my recruiter and found that they are going to hire a different person. Funny that it took 4 sets of interviews with six people and a test to know that I wouldn't fit in.
- What tools do you currently use in your job?
