Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Christie's.
Management Trainee
There will be a full day of tough assessments. All candidates are very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is very tense. Some staff are friendly, but most are very serious or unwelcoming. It's definitely a fun experience if you don't get too bothered by the results.
- What are the latest trends in the art market, and what's your perspective on them?
Head of Department
My final interview involved a 1-hour product cataloging assessment and interview. I met with the regional manager and the head of the department together. It took over a month to get a response.
- After I presented my catalog assessment, we discussed it for about 30 minutes.
Manager
I sent my CV and got invited to a recorded interview. A few days later, HR emailed me saying they wanted to move my application forward and asked for a document I created in my previous job. I sent it, but then heard nothing for over a month. After I emailed twice for updates, I finally got an automated email saying I wasn't successful in the recorded interview stage, which contradicted what HR told me more than a month ago. I expected a more professional and respectful process from a company like Christie's.
- Tell me about times you learned from mistakes.
- What do you see as the main challenges in this role?
