Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Christie's.
Administrator
I was recruited, and then had two interviews, but ultimately wasn't hired because they ended up choosing an intern. It felt like a big waste of time. Anyone else get a token rejection? Everyone in HR and the interviewers were super nice, but the interview itself was pretty dull. They asked the typical situation-based questions, nothing too unexpected. The whole process was a letdown.
- How do you handle stress?
- What action would you take if you observed a team member behaving improperly?
- What's your approach to prioritization?
Administrator
I applied online and got an interview. First, I had a phone call with two people where they asked a lot about my background, my goals, and what I knew about the job. Then, I had a second interview over Skype where we talked more specifically about the position and what they expected.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
Administrator
Out of 200 applicants, 30 interviews were conducted. It was just the first round of interviews with the HR Recruiter, then you met with two people inside of the department you were applying to. Since the department was Post-War Contemporary there was a lot of competition and even though it is listed as an administrator role, they were really looking for someone much more experienced and preferably in-house.
- Can you share specific examples demonstrating your experience with high-level client relationships?
