I applied using a paper form since there was no online system back then. First, there was a qualifying multiple-choice test that was clinical-based, covering surgery, pediatrics, and orthopedics. Then I was invited for the interview. It included a short objective test where we moved between different stations. One station involved performing CPR on a dummy patient. Another station required a statistical calculation based on a problem. We also had to take a patient history for someone with spondyloarthritis, identify the differential diagnosis and treatment for an eschar in a picture, and diagnose and treat a patient based on a microscopic slide showing a hyper segmented neutrophil. The interview itself had a panel of doctors who were a bit sarcastic but also friendly.

First there was a screening test with 240 MCQs. Then, the best candidates were called for an interview for the MD Pharmacology seat. The interview panel had 5 people, including 4 from the hiring department. The interview, which lasted about 10 minutes, began with general questions like my name and origin, then moved to why I chose this field and some subject-specific questions. The panel was friendly and supportive.
