& Process

I applied for this work study position through Handshake during the summer. My employer had told me to apply for the position beforehand. It was competitive because everyone at CBU applied. This job is based on our resume.

My interview went pretty well. They asked me some basic questions about my work ethic and previous experience. A few days later, I got an email saying I didn't get the job. I emailed back asking what skills or experience I was missing for the role. The manager told me I was smart and could do the job, but then said I needed to get a suit jacket. So, it seems like not wearing a suit jacket, even though it was super hot and others weren't dressed up either, was the reason I didn't get the position. It was almost 100 degrees in Memphis that day, and the interviewers weren't even wearing jackets, one might have had sandals on. Also, the job's been posted again, so the person they hired probably didn't work out. Oh well, their loss.

The interview process was short, concise and straight to the point. They wanted to know what my backgrounds and motivations were and also how I could help them as a University.

I got contacted the day after I applied and we set up a phone interview for the very next day. It was more like a chat and went really well.
