It starts with a phone screen to check if you're on a licensure track. Then, you'll meet with two leaders and maybe a team lead. These interviews are usually about an hour long and happen virtually on Teams.

The interview was conducted via messenger. The interviewer shared two messages with information about the organization. Each message had a simple question at the bottom. The second message listed the responsibilities, stating assignments are received via email and reporting to an immediate supervisor. I confirmed understanding and that the responsibilities aligned with my experience. I then asked a few questions, but the interviewer did not respond. After waiting, I thanked them and expressed interest in continuing the conversation. It might be unacceptable to ask questions within this organization, especially after seeing negative reviews online which suggest issues.

I had a Zoom interview with some of the development team, then an in-person meeting with the rest of them. I also met with the Chief Digital Officer twice. The process also included reference checks, background checks, a sex offender database check, fingerprinting, a TB test, and a drug screen.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The application process was a bit of a mess, I applied twice because the system didn't confirm receipt. I got an email from the current person in the role about a phone interview, which went okay. They told me I was one of three final candidates and wanted to set up a second interview with the CEO, COO, and development team. I gave them my availability, but then had to wait a week for them to get back to me with specific times. After another five days without a response to my availability, I had to ask again. Finally, they confirmed an interview with the CEO, though I was initially told it would be a panel. By this point, I was already having doubts due to previous negative reviews and the communication issues. The in-person interview with the CEO was scheduled, but they were running late. The CEO had a lot of questions, covering general and specific marketing campaign experience, and even asked about a fundraising platform called Hustle, which I wasn't familiar with. The interview lasted 1.5 hours. I asked about staff changes and negative feedback, and the CEO brushed it off. The CEO mentioned there would be another interview phase, which seemed odd. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the following week, but that didn't happen. I reached out, and the CEO said they'd be in touch the next week, which also didn't happen. By the end of that weekend, I was done with the process due to the rudeness and poor communication. The CEO had previously said they would contact me by a specific date, and they didn't. Then, an HR associate I'd never spoken to called to say they hired someone else, even though I was apparently a top candidate. The entire process felt disrespectful and disorganized.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Tell me about a marketing campaign you were involved in that didn't succeed, and what insights you gained from that experience.
