First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at China CITIC Bank.
Relationship Manager Corporate
First, they ask basic questions about your background and experience. Then, there's a part where they check your Chinese proficiency, and the rest of the interview is conducted in Chinese.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
Manager
So I had this 2-hour on-site interview, I prepped for it and everything, but it was kinda disappointing. The interviewer seemed checked out from the beginning. She wasn't like, super rude, but her vibe (eye-rolling, dismissive tone, and kept talking about how the bank is so strict) made me feel like she wasn't really considering me. What really got me was being told the whole process would take 'about a month,' and then just... silence. No feedback, no update, nothing. I would have been fine with a rejection within two weeks, honestly. At least that would have been respectful of my time and effort going to an in-person interview. Leaving candidates hanging, especially when it feels like the decision is already made, just makes the company look unprofessional.
- Can you share why you left your previous position?
Senior Officer
The first round was with HR, and the second round was with the line manager. They asked about my experience, job duties, and past experiences, and also why I want to leave my current job. The interview wasn't too difficult.
- Tell me about your experience.
- What are your job duties?
- Can you share your past experiences?
Load Assistant
I applied for this Load Assistant position in the campus career fair and got a response within a week. The interview was conducted by 3 managers in a small room. They started by giving a brief introduction to their positions. Then, I introduced myself and my work experience. They asked me several behavioral questions: what relevant experience I had, what my strengths are, and what my weaknesses are. Finally, they asked if I had any questions for them. I asked about the new business models they are currently pursuing.
- Tell me about a time your integrity was challenged.
- What is your relevant experience in this area?
- What are your strengths?
